words

sheila sea

there are words that carry a lot of meaning in our society.
words that serve to elevate the few while deflating the many & ones that mothers whipser to daughters in dying breast.
there are some that pull us into our mistakes and drag our limbs from park to place.
others are battering truths that make us microscopic before stamping us out entirely.
my favorite resemble the warmth of mornings coated in thick molasses.
it seems that in words we shroud the very core of our existence
and of these words and their infinite configurations,
none is more precious than a word uttered in single breath and promise.
no, there is just not any lovelier than
we.
