A Whole New League (Briarwood High #2) by Maggie Dallen (Author)

Currently reading 📖 “a whole new league “ book two to the “Briarwood High series” by Maggie Dallen short but interesting book.

Book Review:

#2

Let’s see it could be some spoilers depending on how I feel once I am writing this review. So I am going to start by saying, I am glad this book was short; sometimes I do like and don’t like LONG chapters. I thought Alice and Brian story. They were best friends but split during high school. They were both in the wrong, but realize they cared and missed each other. They fixed their relationship by coming together through “theater.

Book Description:

The star quarterback dating a theater geek like me? As if anyone would believe that.

If Brian Kirkland is the reigning king of the jocks, I guess that makes me the queen of the drama department. Hard to believe we were ever best friends. These days we go to great lengths to ignore one another. But when Brian’s current diva girlfriend convinces him to try out for my play, there’s no way to avoid him. I try to keep it professional, but years of anger and resentment are hard to dismiss. It doesn’t help that he’s just as cocky as I remember. He lives to antagonize me, which is why I’m just as stunned as everyone else when he does something nice. Something…unexpected. His very public kiss is an act of kindness to save me from humiliation, but it leads the entire school to think that we’re dating. Which is just crazy…right?

The Briarwood High novels are completely standalone romances that can be read in any order.

*** MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDER***

After getting canned from her dream job this morning and played in spectacular fashion by her boyfriend this afternoon, Savannah “Savvy” Valentine is having a truly awful day. Which is why she’s currently drowning her sorrows in whiskey and self-pity in a shabby bar along the route to Las Vegas. In light of today’s double whammy, Savvy isn’t sure why she’s still heading in the direction of her five-year high school reunion. The only reason she’d wanted to attend the reunion in Vegas in the first place was to show the captain of the football team, the guy who took her virginity and then promptly rejected her, that the captain of the math team grew up to have all enviable hot things: hot body, hot boyfriend, and hot career. Now, the only “hot” thing about Savvy Valentine is her mess.
But when a gorgeous stranger with sandy hair, a leather jacket, and motorcycle helmet walks into the bar, Savvy’s awful day suddenly looks a whole lot brighter. The man is perfection. Sexy and mysterious. And he’s heading to Las Vegas, too. Can one wild night with a sexy stranger in the middle of nowhere lead a girl to fall desperately and deeply in love in Las Vegas? Savvy Valentine is about to find out.

Definitely a short story

Book Review:

I’m rating this book a 4 star 🌟 ⭐⭐⭐ because it was short. I wish that it was longer than it was. The other short story was longer than this one. But though, it was short I did like the book.

Book Description:

Paxton Humphries is Woodbridge High’s resident emo-art freak. He’s heard every barb and insult in the book and has learned to roll with the punches. Literally. His best friends know who he really is and that’s enough for him. Sure, it’d be great if braggadocious jocks like Will Jones didn’t make fun of him or always get the girl. Especially incredibly smart and cute girls, like Desiree Williams. A girl he was just about to ask out at the beginning of the year, before Will beat him to it.

Desiree tells everyone Will is nice. And he was, er, is. He can be nice. She should be happy, dating one of the most popular guys in school. So why has she found herself feeling much more comfortable talking and laughing with Paxton during their class, than when she’s actually with her boyfriend? And why can’t she stop staring at his lips or that lip ring?

One of a Kind is a short story, based in the Rumor Has It series. It takes place before Book 1, but offers no spoilers and is a complete, stand-alone story. One of a Kind is exclusive to the author’s newsletter subscribers.

Through the Layers (Rumor Has It #4) by R.H. Tucker (Author)

Book Review:

Definitely had to go through a lot of layers.

I will say I’m giving this book a 3 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because one, Veronica was very annoying and always whining about her weight and her insecurities about herself. I clearly understand what she’s feeling but seriously through the entire book? Like sheesh! To top it off her own best friend didn’t have boobies or was thicker as she. She was never insecure at all. A lot of times those who are thicker think women/girls who are slimmer than them doesn’t have insecurities, but they do. I felt like Micah cared about Veronica he didn’t see anything wrong with her, but in her mind, she thinks negatively about herself. I kept rolling my eyes like girl shut up already sheesh if you so concern about your weight that much to work out. Like um hello your boyfriend and his best friend stayed working out that’s all she could’ve done. Instead of being whiny and complaining 24/7. I knew that Micah had some insecurities too she didn’t realize he had them himself until the end. I hated how her brothers treated Micah towards the end when it was Veronica fought that her brothers had problems with Micah. She kept running away from Micah especially when Lana came around. Normal girls would stay not leave their boyfriend with their ex. She was very dumb for that. Gave me a headache, I was glad when I was DONE with this book.
P.S. I see the next book is about Taylor I wish Taylor and Cynthia would get together but I can tell that’s not the case 😦 if not I hope there’s a book about her too after Taylor story…

Book Description:

Second chances are for suckers.

Micah’s heard that expression before. With his first year of college in the books, catching his girlfriend cheating on him — again — he learns that lesson firsthand. The girl he thought could’ve been his high school sweetheart, turns out to be nothing more than a liar, completely destroying his trust.

No one has ever called Veronica fat. Thick? Okay. Curvy? Sure. However, they’ve never come right out and told her she’s overweight. Not unless you count the kids in third grade who called her roly-poly. Grade school or freshman year of college, it doesn’t matter. Guys usually go for the tall, thin girls. Girls like Micah’s ex.

Despite their hang-ups and their pasts, Micah and Veronica find something in each other that quells their concerns. But when old faces return, and unsettling truths are revealed, will either of them be able to work through the layers and find one another again?

Through the Layers is part of the Rumor Has It series and can be read as a standalone novel.

Series Note: Starting with Book 4, the Rumor Has It series deals with mature themes and situations.

Book Review:

Good book

Never was disappointed. In each book to this series that I have read. This one was good too. I still think Jack will end up with Bennett friend Chris can’t wait for his story to come out .. I know it’s going to be hilarious… but I’d be disappointed if it’s Chace ugh ….. very disappointed. But now I am curious as to what will happen that ending has me wanting to know why Chace is coming into the picture and why Jack needs Christina’s help.

Hope it doesn’t ruin her and Bennett relationship I like them together. He makes her a better person than what Chace made her become. I also wonder why Jack is dealing with Chace he hasn’t change since Kenzie and Jeremy story .. also, I was glad that everyone finally came around and forgave Christina. I think if it wasn’t for Bailey and then Audrey the gang would’ve still been mean towards her. Like Bennett said people do change from the time they were teenagers until they turn into adults though some don’t.

Book Description:

They say a leopard can’t change its spots, but I beg to differ. I’m not the girl I used to be, and now is my chance to prove it.

I’m back at the high school where I burned a lot of bridges and hurt a lot of people. Only this time, I’m not a student… I’m a teacher. I want to repair the damage I caused and move on… hopefully with Bennett Sawyer.

I’m stunned when I find out Bennett just so happens to be one of my new students — and the principal’s son. I didn’t know it when we began dating, and now we’ve got to put an end to our relationship or risk losing everything.

But the attraction between us is unstoppable, and when jealousy gets in the way, all I want to do is mark my territory, but I can’t.

With a smile like his, and a body to die for, can I stay away from him and pretend he means nothing… until he graduates in ten weeks?

Book Review:

Ethan + Olivia, friendships can = to love ❤️

I was waiting on this book to come to read it finally. It was the same as the other books in this series (e.,g, good, and enjoyable) that’s my meaning ….. I liked the second one better. That’s my truth. But Ethan and Olivia’s story was good; I figured that Ethan liked her and Olivia was to blind to see that he liked her, she was too wrapped up in Laulan or whatever his name was. To see that her true match was her best friend until it was too late. She kept pushing him away. I understood why he was upset. She assumed things a lot over aliases things too much and don’t think things through. That what messed up their friendship she should’ve told him her feelings and nothing would’ve happened .but she was bossy. She had Ethan wrapped around her finger until he walked away from her. I was glad that things work out, in the end, the good book. I will be reading part 4 ( the Christmas one to this series).

Book Description:

It was supposed to be a simple kiss. That was all. Whoops.

My plan was perfect: convince my best friend and school quarterback, Ethan, to be the final prize for my matchmaking test where the proceeds go to sending the band to Paris. Plus, if it matches me with my life-long crush, that’s a bonus, right?

What could go wrong?

Apparently, a lot.

First, the test matches me and Ethan. Which is easy to explain. Computers make mistakes all the time, right?

Second, the girl I switch myself for seems perfect for Ethan. Maybe a bit too perfect.

Third, my date with my crush goes horribly wrong and my first kiss tanks.

Now, I’m pretty sure I’m destined to be alone while Ethan rides off into the sunset with his perfect match.

Man, I’ve screwed up bad—especially when I ask Ethan the secrets to a good kiss.

Big mistake.

Feelings start to change and I’m pretty sure that our friendship isn’t going to be enough anymore. Too bad I seem to be the only one in our duo who seems to feel this way.
