Side Hustle (Dawson Family #3) by Emily Goodwin (Author)

Almost finished reading “Side Hustle” by @authoremilygoodwin the third book to the “Dawson Family Series” … I like this story better; I already knew once I start it wouldn’t take me long to finish. I’m going to give it by Sunday-Monday when I’m done. But, in my mind, I keep thinking Wes will find out she’s a con-artist, or his ex-wife going to show up. 🥴😱🤦🏽‍♀️ Btw that, I’m hoping the author writes a story on Archer brother Bobby and Wes, twin brothers Owen and Logan.

Book Review:

Awesome book glad Wes found love in Scarlet

**••There may be a few spoilers in this review••**

I wish Scarlet would have told Wes what Daisy did, blackmailed her. I cannot stand that hoe cunt-bitch! I believe that Scarlet did that conning stuff to help her dad who was sick. It’s understandable but definitely wrong; she realizes that once she met Wes, his son and their family. It changed who she was. And here comes Daisy bean pie-head *** ruining stuff. For both Scarlet, Wes, and Jackson. I wish I can slap her through the phone.
I was that he listened to his brother and went to Chicago to get his women. I was like yasss Weston  F*** your “B” of ex-wife … with her CUNT ***. I felt that Scarlet, is a way better mom than Daisy would ever be to Jackson; and she is a better wife too. Not only that his family LOVES her too, they just need to get rid of KARA first.

Ugh, Dean needs to get rid of Kara. Literally, she’s no good for him. He shouldn’t have married her. There were a lot of signs there; before he asked her to marry him. If everyone thinks she can be a “B,”, it’s time to say poof “B” be gone 👋🏽 … she’s a cunt like Daisy was. Hopefully, it is a book about Dean 😂😂😂 he definitely doesn’t need Kara toxic ass in his life. Who complains about a dishwasher .. gah she’s such twot.

I keep thinking that Scarlet could ask Wes to help with the situation with her father. Move him to Eastwood so that he could better treatment and proper care. I don’t know about her sister; it’s because of her big ass mouth is what ruin everything. Like she is mad stupid you never know who knows who in prison; you can’t just go running your mouth to anybody. Daisy Duck-*** trying to kidnap Jackson; smh I was glad that Owen recorded everything. I’ve waited on that divorce too …. it was well overdue. Now if Dean can get one I’m a be HAPPY (Pharrell voice). 😂😂😂 And look at that she skips town again; wow, go figure she (Daisy) didn’t change she ONLY wanted to ruin Wes life again by trying to get rid of Scarlet and it didn’t work what a fool she was. This book to this series was GREAT definitely a 5-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. I would definitely recommend this book. Will always say, read a series in order because you’ll be confused. The good news was, in the end, they moved her father to Eastwood Senior Care Center with better treatment and care. Not having enough staff at the old care center wasn’t work gladly it’s better for him since he’s moved. The end was so cute when he asked Scarlet to marry him. Then get married on Valentine’s Day; got what they (including Jackson) wanted with each other a “baby” she was pregnant. That’s a blessing.

P.S. I was glad her sister turned her life around once she has gotten out of jail.

It’s bad enough that Weston doesn’t have a fortune to charm out of him, but he’s also a cop.

After marrying his high school sweetheart only to have her up and leave weeks after their baby was born, Weston has sworn off women for life. All that matters now is taking care of his son, Jackson.

Book Review:

What in the flip was that? I literally was like WTH. Because of how the book ended. I said to myself really that’s it? I thought that something more would be after the last chapter I am confused. Where is the second book to this; I want to know more smh. UGH, not good, too short and confusing, even though I did enjoy this book I am between rating this book a 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star and a 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star .. I’m going to go with a 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star.

Book Description:

What’s a girl to do when she’s forced to spend time with her childhood nemesis?

There are only three things Mackenzie Brown looks forward to on a Friday night: cheesy romcoms, mani-pedi and a quiet sleepover with her friends.

Crashing a party and getting payback on her best friend’s cheating ex-boyfriend is definitely NOT part of the plan. Especially the possibility of getting caught!

But worst of all? Getting dared into taking a dip in freezing lakewater with the cocky Sean Murphy.

Can’t she catch a break?

But when truths are revealed and secrets come out, Mackenzie starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, missing out on a quiet sleepover isn’t so bad after all…

Disclaimer: This 18,000-word novella contains an epic party, two rivals trying-but-failing to get along, and one crazy dare to top the night.

Here I am reading another book by Emily Goodwin called “Then Comes Marriage”. I’m 27% done with this book. I’m here rolling my eyes, like, “I’m so over this girl crying, I’m on chapter 9, and I’m over it. I’m hoping by chapter 15. She doesn’t cry anymore, she needs to find her a new man *cough* Derek, and get over shrimp dick Travis. Though, she called him “Dick Muffin” while I called him “Shrimp Dick”. He likes peasant …. and he rude, and men. Blah!!! Good book though.. 🤷🏽‍♀️⭐️ Oh by the way this book is about Rachel whereas “First Comes LOVE” is about her friend Lauren; though I think it’s best to READ first comes “love” then this one first comes “marriage” since Lauren and Noah are mentioned in this one…

*****FEW SPOILERS MIGHT BE MENTION SO BE AWARE***

Here I am reading another book by Emily Goodwin called “Then Comes Marriage.” I’m 27% done with this book. I’m here rolling my eyes, like, “I’m so over this girl crying, I’m on chapter 9, and I’m over it. I’m hoping by chapter 15. Though, she called him “Dick Muffin” while I called him “Shrimp Dick.” He likes peasant …. and he rude, and men. Blah!!! Good book though…

I was glad when Rachel moved on to Derek; because Travis; wasn’t worth crap, he proves that when he brought himself to their honeymoon aka now Vacation (as Rachel called it) to win her back. But when he couldn’t, he disrespected Rachel and called her out of her name. You can learn someone true colors once you date them. They end up, showing you who they truly are. Travis did that and Derek was right there to pick her up to make her happy. I liked how he didn’t change who Rachel was and didn’t think she was weird as Travis made it seem like she was. I agree with Derek “weird” is better . I AM WEIRD MYSELF. To me, BEING WEIRD is so much better.

I like in the end they end up together, got engaged went back to Hawaii for their honeymoon then gotten married, and Rachel gave Derek what he always wanted a BABY. That made me excited 😀

If you want to read this book is about Rachel whereas “First Comes Love” is about her friend Lauren; though I think it’s best to READ first comes “love” then this one first comes “marriage” since Lauren and Noah are mentioned in this one.

Book Description:

Fall in love—check.
Get engaged and plan a perfect wedding—check and check.
Find my fiancé with another woman—I never thought I’d check that off the list, yet here I am, putting a giant “X” in that box just months before we take our sacred vows.

Along with recovering from a broken heart, I’m left with the mess of canceling all things wedding. The venue gave me the deposit back. The florist canceled my order with no charge. The resort we booked for the honeymoon—yeah, they’re not giving me a dime. But I’ll be damned if I throw away a chance to spend two weeks in a tropical paradise, lounging on the beach with a drink in my hand, looking for anything but love.

When I see Derek Turner—a sexy homicide detective I’ve run into a few times before—walking along the beach, I’m not sure if he’s stalking me or if it’s fate. Dark and brooding with a past he refuses to talk about, Derek is the last thing I need…and is exactly what I want.

But when what started off as a rebound turns into something more, something neither of us can deny, I’m left with love’s greatest irony: finding the right person at the worst possible time.

Then Comes Marriage is a full-length, standalone novel.

First comes love, baby and then marriage

•••• Spoilers here and there•••••

Okay, I did enjoy this book. I am never the one to be disappointed in reading Emily Goodwin books. She always keeps my interest in her books. I like how both Lauren and Noah got together no matter what “her” family thought of Noah. I felt they all judge him including Lauren; thinking he was going to be the same as he was as a teenager. But in reality, a lot of people change when they have a kid, and you can tell by reading this book; that being with Lauren and having a kid with her changed Noah, and he turns out not like his father. He definitely was good for her; she for him.

Book Description:

First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes a—

Hold up. You’re joking right? As if life works off a neat little list like that, moving down, checking things off before jumping to the next task. We’re not married. We’re not lovers. Hell, we’re hardly even friends. Noah Wilson isn’t exactly “life partner” material, and he sure as hell isn’t “father material”. He’s my older brother’s best friend, and has been off limits, sworn off, locked in the highest tower and out of reach since we met over ten years ago. With his devilish good looks, tattoos, motorcycle, and trail of broken hearts and tears, I’ve had good reason to stay away from the bad boy my mother warned me about.

Until one night. One stupid, regrettable night that changed both of our lives forever. And now I only have nine months to decide our fate, to see if Noah’s rebel heart is capable of anything more than a one night stand.

This isn’t a love story. This is a life story. And life doesn’t go according to plan.

Book Review:

Mixed up mistake = love ❤️= boyfriend + girlfriend
••¥¥ it could be a possibility of a few spoilers•••¥¥
This book was good. I enjoyed this story. It’s crazy how it is twins in this world that has the exact fact. You cannot tell them apart at all. Raven kept getting the twins Jace and Logan mixed up. But I could say everyone was going for Jace over Logan. I could see why he was insecure and possibly jealous. They may look alike but have different personalities.
When I first started this book, I had to figure out who in the world was ‘Raven’ until I figured out after the fact ••• the girl that was in Lexi and Noah story that had wanted Noah. Glad, she found herself a boyfriend, I can relate to how she feels too in this book.

Book Review:

Definitely had to go through a lot of layers.

I will say I’m giving this book a 3 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because one, Veronica was very annoying and always whining about her weight and her insecurities about herself. I clearly understand what she’s feeling but seriously through the entire book? Like sheesh! To top it off her own best friend didn’t have boobies or was thicker as she. She was never insecure at all. A lot of times those who are thicker think women/girls who are slimmer than them doesn’t have insecurities, but they do. I felt like Micah cared about Veronica he didn’t see anything wrong with her, but in her mind, she thinks negatively about herself. I kept rolling my eyes like girl shut up already sheesh if you so concern about your weight that much to work out. Like um hello your boyfriend and his best friend stayed working out that’s all she could’ve done. Instead of being whiny and complaining 24/7. I knew that Micah had some insecurities too she didn’t realize he had them himself until the end. I hated how her brothers treated Micah towards the end when it was Veronica fought that her brothers had problems with Micah. She kept running away from Micah especially when Lana came around. Normal girls would stay not leave their boyfriend with their ex. She was very dumb for that. Gave me a headache, I was glad when I was DONE with this book.
P.S. I see the next book is about Taylor I wish Taylor and Cynthia would get together but I can tell that’s not the case 😦 if not I hope there’s a book about her too after Taylor story…

Book Description:

Second chances are for suckers.

Micah’s heard that expression before. With his first year of college in the books, catching his girlfriend cheating on him — again — he learns that lesson firsthand. The girl he thought could’ve been his high school sweetheart, turns out to be nothing more than a liar, completely destroying his trust.

No one has ever called Veronica fat. Thick? Okay. Curvy? Sure. However, they’ve never come right out and told her she’s overweight. Not unless you count the kids in third grade who called her roly-poly. Grade school or freshman year of college, it doesn’t matter. Guys usually go for the tall, thin girls. Girls like Micah’s ex.

Despite their hang-ups and their pasts, Micah and Veronica find something in each other that quells their concerns. But when old faces return, and unsettling truths are revealed, will either of them be able to work through the layers and find one another again?

Through the Layers is part of the Rumor Has It series and can be read as a standalone novel.

Series Note: Starting with Book 4, the Rumor Has It series deals with mature themes and situations.

Good book

Never was disappointed. In each book to this series that I have read. This one was good too. I still think Jack will end up with Bennett friend Chris can’t wait for his story to come out .. I know it’s going to be hilarious… but I’d be disappointed if it’s Chace ugh ….. very disappointed. But now I am curious as to what will happen that ending has me wanting to know why Chace is coming into the picture and why Jack needs Christina’s help.

Hope it doesn’t ruin her and Bennett relationship I like them together. He makes her a better person than what Chace made her become. I also wonder why Jack is dealing with Chace he hasn’t change since Kenzie and Jeremy story .. also, I was glad that everyone finally came around and forgave Christina. I think if it wasn’t for Bailey and then Audrey the gang would’ve still been mean towards her. Like Bennett said people do change from the time they were teenagers until they turn into adults though some don’t.

Book Description:

They say a leopard can’t change its spots, but I beg to differ. I’m not the girl I used to be, and now is my chance to prove it.

I’m back at the high school where I burned a lot of bridges and hurt a lot of people. Only this time, I’m not a student… I’m a teacher. I want to repair the damage I caused and move on… hopefully with Bennett Sawyer.

I’m stunned when I find out Bennett just so happens to be one of my new students — and the principal’s son. I didn’t know it when we began dating, and now we’ve got to put an end to our relationship or risk losing everything.

But the attraction between us is unstoppable, and when jealousy gets in the way, all I want to do is mark my territory, but I can’t.

With a smile like his, and a body to die for, can I stay away from him and pretend he means nothing… until he graduates in ten weeks?
