Magnolia Lake by Emily Paige Skeen

I’m actually reading two books. This is the second book I started on. I’m almost finish it. I’ll go back to the first book I was reading after I’m done with this one. It’s been a pretty good book, even though I think this girl Cora is stupid when it comes to her best friend Landon.

Book Review:

Spoilers? There’s a possibility it’ll be a bunch splash here and there if not it’ll be less.

This book was even though I thought Cora was very stubborn and didn’t see the way Landon felt about her. When her family and friends knew how he felt. Even Rex knew that she had a thing for Landon, she didn’t figure it out until Prom night. Which I thought was a good thing, because I was like finally.

They got together after everything Landon proved and showed her how he felt. Not only that, what I came to realize before the tragedy happened to Cora when she got kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Jeff was she was very oblivious to a lot of things, but she also was very gullible. She didn’t see or believe in a lot of things that others saw. I mean very naïve too. Just like when Landon told her she needed to go to the cops when he found out about the bruise on her own, Jeff left after he grabbed her without her permission.

She assumes that Jeff wasn’t going to do anything. Until he did. Which lead to her getting kidnapped at the mall. Was in Jeff’s family barn for ten days. I felt so bad for her because he had an obsession with that girl. I was like he needs to realize that when someone doesn’t love you, “let it go.”

Like he cheated on her with her best friend Lacey and then tried getting her back. On to apologizing, then since that didn’t work for him, he started to stalk her every move, which was by far scary as heck like jheeze Louise. I was glad when Landon came to her rescue (as always) since he cared for and loved her. But I became really sad when I learned he was paralyzed from the waist down. I was like nooooooo, not Landon crying 😢… I was rooting for them (he and Cora) and wanted him to play baseball.

But learning that they locked up Jeff and threw away the key made my dad. But what made my day was Landon being 20% able to walk again. With a lot of therapy. He even stood up during Cora’s birthday party at the end.

Even if he was fully paralyzed (though he wasn’t), I thought. Even though he would’ve been, it’s a lot he could do even if he were paralyzed from the waist down. I was like he could coach baseball, among other things.

But in the end, everything turns out good for both he and Cora. Even though they been through the worse but they came out of it, especially Cora.

Catching Carly (Barley Cross #2) by Emma Hart

I died at the part about spraining her ankle by changing a lightbulb 🤣 … I’m just glad this book is more interesting than the first one. Because the first one was bleh!!! .

Book Review:

Spoilers.. just a few.
I don’t know about Emma Hart’s books. But sometimes I get halfway over the book towards the middle. But I always want to finish one of her books that I am reading because I want to know what happens.

It’s like this book. Okay, it turns out WAY better than “Being Brooke” that book was just ugh! Never again. Whereas this book was pretty good. But I was over it towards the end.

I can say I wasn’t disappointed because this one “Catching Carly” turned out good when I was reading the one with Brooke and learned that Carly was going to have a book with Cain brother Zeke. I was like I have to read it. I’m glad I did and got to find out what happened between them and how they would end up with each other. I’m just glad his ex didn’t ruin anything for them.

Not only that, but I also can’t wait to read “The Upside to Being Single” soon. But I also wonder if Billie Brooke’s sister will end up with a book, or does she have one already? If not, I would like one, at least!!!!

Book Review:

Pretty good read; had me not wanting to stop reading!

***Spoilers; splash here and there***

This book was really good. I figure her best friend, Caroline, was trash and didn’t care about Beth. Even Parker didn’t like Caroline; he probably thought that something wasn’t right with her. He also didn’t like Jared for personal reasons, but he knew that Jared was trash.

I was glad when Beth figured out that both Caroline and Jared weren’t good people in her life. I mean Jared even showed proof of that after the accident that Beth was in…. he came to the hospital to talk smack to Parker, and stated how he was going to get Beth back. Like boy no, your garbage. I was like Beth woke up and heard everything that was said. And dismissed Jared from her life for good.

She even dismissed Caroline when Caroline blew her phone up with text messages. Beth figured things out when it came to Parker and his feelings and her own feelings. At first, she pushes him away, but after talking to her sister & then the accident where he saved her, she knew that Parker was meant for her. He may have been a “Stand-In” boyfriend, as everyone stated, but he was a perfect boyfriend for her.

The Holiday Boyfriend: A Second Chance Christmas Romance (Boyfriend #4) by Christina Benjamin

At first I am like ehhh. 20 some chapters. I am glad that so far it’s good. I just hope by chapter 15, I don’t end up tired of reading like I normally do with certain books that good!!!

Book Review:

Holiday Boyfriend

Spoiler.. thrown here and there.

Wow, I didn’t know that this book was going to end like that. Wow! I was confused!

But I can say this; this book wasn’t a disappointment. It was a good read. I liked the story!

I thought it was cute, but also believed that Emma was kind of mean towards Will didn’t give him enough credit, when it came to his feelings and when it came to Liz. She was always quick to assume things instead of thinking things through and asking questions.

I was glad she realizes her feelings for Will instead of running away from him always. She knows that he didn’t fool around or lost his V-Card to Liz when she heard Will blast, Liz, out at the rooftop Christmas party. I was glad she heard it because it shows her who Will truly was and that he didn’t change.

Also, she knew she was wrong to run away from issues, especially when it came to her father and standing Will up at the dance.

I was also glad she had a talk with her father and realize he actually still loved her and wanted her around. Even her mother knew everything, and Emma assumes her mother was still hurting. But the talk with her father made her understand a lot of things and even got her to like Tara, which turn out to be good. She got a brother out of the deal, which she learned to love and become close too not only that she had another brother on the way.

A lot of things she had to thank Will for because he helped her through a lot when it came to her family and even Will. & she also helps Will have a good family Christmas and even Colin; her step-brother ended up with the best Christmas ever.

Being Brooke (Barley Cross #1) by Emma Hart

I started this book back in January. But never went back to finish it. Finally, I decided to go ahead and retry reading it. Since when I first start it, it was kind of dry. So far it’s keeping my interests.

Book Review:

Ehhh it was ok

**Spoilers. I don’t know if it will be*** but maybe a few••**

I’m going to say this; this review may be short because I don’t have much to say. If it ends up longer, then I have something to say.

But I am going to say this; this book was sooo boring. I started it back in January and decided to finish it this month, ugh! But it was still not that interesting.

& the thing is I’ve read other books by Emma Hart, that wasn’t like this book, this book I had to skip a couple of pages when I got to chapter twenty. Because I didn’t care… I just wanted to finish it… & I did. At least I know what happened in the end.

Not only that, I thought Brooke was a little annoying because she kept holding on to her feelings and not saying anything; it took her way to long. Even after her best friend Cain kissed her, she still was in denial about her feelings and even his. Like girl, it was a REASON behind that kiss. Even Cain brothers told her that Cain was always in love with her.

Heck, Cain ex-girlfriend Nina knew that something was there with both Brooke and Cain. End the end; I was glad that they both figured things out and started dating. & Brooke is figuring out what she wanted out of her life even though she was a disaster of a girl.

P.S., so I want to read book two with Carly and Zeke. What I will say is I pray and hope that it is shorter if not shorter but way better and more interesting than this one with Brooke. I am hoping that book two is a banger. Because I want to read that book, same way I wanted to read this one, but UGH!!!!!

Book Description:

BEING BROOKE is a laugh-out-loud, witty, and sometimes highly inappropriate romantic comedy about being in love with your best friend. And how much that freaking sucks.

My name is Brooke Barker…
And I’m a freaking disaster.
No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.
Not to mention I’m completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.
The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.
The second problem? He’s my best friend.
My shut-up-and-put-on-Harry-Potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampons, kinda best friend.
And that’s all he can be, right?

The Almost Boyfriend (Boyfriend #2) by Christina Benjamin

I started this book on a Wednesday forgot which Wednesday could’ve been last week or week before. 🤣… This book started off boring, but when I went back to finish it.. it got good I’m glad. Though; I am not into Ireland (Irish) talk! Ha. But still good. Though 📖👌… just hope this rest, not like this one since the first book wasn’t!

Book Review:

Enemies to lovers

••Spoilers? Maybe a lot, maybe a few, I’ll see once I finish this review.•

Okay, before starting on this book and what I felt about it. I want to say that I cannot stand the word “Grand” I know I ended up with a headache because Devon, kept saying it ALOT in the book. I wasn’t too much into the Ireland language (talk). I hope that the other books to this series don’t have Ireland speaking because that “Grand” pluck my last nerve.

So anyway, besides that, I thought the book was good. But I will say this, when I first started this book, it was boring, so I went to two other books than went back to this book when I went back and read this one. It turned out REALLY good. Though I thought Sam was kind of b*t*hy towards Devon in some ways. Even though he showed her in so many ways that he cared.

Even though he was mean to her when his father died, I still didn’t think she should’ve gone to that pub. & the bad thing about it Zander wasn’t a bad person as Devon thought. It was just jealousy; I was glad that they worked it out with each other. Also, he worked it out with his stepmom, too, which was good too. Since he thought she was ONLY using his father. Which she wasn’t. She cared about his father. Not only that, she actually cared and worried about Devon too. But it took Zander to show him during the time at the pub when Sam got drugged by Sophie.

Who was I thought was trash and jealous of Sam for no reason. Sam wasn’t even thinking about her. Sophie was just jealous because Sam had Devon’s heart. Nobody told Sophie yo dumped Devon when he was off the team. When Sam comes around and Sophie learns that Devon was getting his father company she wanted him back. Then turn around and dumped Zander too. Who ends up with the company; in the end, she didn’t win nothing whereas everybody else did (Zander, Sam & Devon). I do hope that Zander does end up with Meghan. That would be awesome.

Book Review:

best friends to lovers

***Dumped a bunch of spoilers all through this review*****

I didn’t realize this book had 36 chapters until I got tired of reading when I got closer to the end lol… like chapter 35/36. I was over it and was like dang this book must have been really good that I didn’t pay how many chapters this book had.

But enough with that, I actually enjoyed this book. It was actually a good book. I enjoyed it and wasn’t disappointed. But I did think that Tommy guy and London girl were evil people. Especially with calling her names because of a kiss. Plus, I felt that maybe London could’ve been jealous of Tommie. & the ‘guy’ Tommy I didn’t know what his deal was. PlusJames, I just thought he only showed Tommie’s attention when he found out how close Roan and Tommie had gotten with each other.

Because at first, he didn’t say anything to her and let the jokes about her having fish lips when she kissed him a prom. Well, more so, he kissed her by grabbing her behind and messing up her first kiss anyways. & made her the butt of the joke.

But you could tell that she had a lot of insecurities and doubts about herself and stayed comparing herself to her sister, in reality, told her that she (Maddie) was jealous of her (Tommie) it taken half of the book to show her that she was beautiful. I guess other guys also thought she was beautiful too. Even Roan though he always acted weird around her when she dressed up. But I could tell he was attracted to her.

But in the end, he had a hard time showing her what he felt for her because he kept pushing away from her. To denying anything was going to between them too; to him stop or wouldn’t look at her or hold hands with her in public. But always popped up when James was around 🤣 like I felt he was jealous when James did say or tough her. But like I said, James was only around for that one reason he seeing them kissing in the rain after batting cages (baseball)…

9 out of 10, I figure someone did show them kissing. I also was glad when Roan came to his senses because he really hurt Tommie.. & he finally proves to her at graduation by showing a slide show of them in public around everyone that they are together. I did want to see what Tommy and London had to say, but they were never mentioned again… since the party where London showed the fish lip kiss between James and Tommie at prom, during James’ party. That girl had a serious jealous problem.

Book Review:

Ethan + Olivia, friendships can = to love ❤️

I was waiting on this book to come to read it finally. It was the same as the other books in this series (e.,g, good, and enjoyable) that’s my meaning ….. I liked the second one better. That’s my truth. But Ethan and Olivia’s story was good; I figured that Ethan liked her and Olivia was to blind to see that he liked her, she was too wrapped up in Laulan or whatever his name was. To see that her true match was her best friend until it was too late. She kept pushing him away. I understood why he was upset. She assumed things a lot over aliases things too much and don’t think things through. That what messed up their friendship she should’ve told him her feelings and nothing would’ve happened .but she was bossy. She had Ethan wrapped around her finger until he walked away from her. I was glad that things work out, in the end, the good book. I will be reading part 4 ( the Christmas one to this series).

41081212

Book Description:

It was supposed to be a simple kiss. That was all. Whoops.

My plan was perfect: convince my best friend and school quarterback, Ethan, to be the final prize for my matchmaking test where the proceeds go to sending the band to Paris. Plus, if it matches me with my life-long crush, that’s a bonus, right?

What could go wrong?

Apparently, a lot.

First, the test matches me and Ethan. Which is easy to explain. Computers make mistakes all the time, right?

Second, the girl I switch myself for seems perfect for Ethan. Maybe a bit too perfect.

Third, my date with my crush goes horribly wrong and my first kiss tanks.

Now, I’m pretty sure I’m destined to be alone while Ethan rides off into the sunset with his perfect match.

Man, I’ve screwed up bad—especially when I ask Ethan the secrets to a good kiss.

Big mistake.

Feelings start to change and I’m pretty sure that our friendship isn’t going to be enough anymore. Too bad I seem to be the only one in our duo who seems to feel this way.
