Currently reading part 2 to the ‘Messy Duet’ Series so👏🏽 far it’s good as the first one, and the girl Lexi still whinny and dramatic. Smh 🤦🏽♀️ I want to say ‘women’ 😂 but anyway. This book is on KU (kindle unlimited)
>>> SPOILERS INSIDE OF THIS REVIEW OF TWICE BURNED BY AUTHOR EMILY GOODWIN<<<<
I swear Lucas and Alexis are one irritating couple I swear lol. UGH! Like you have Alexis, who was always whining and believing everything that Luke, brother Cole has told her, which always end up as an LIE. And she knows he lied before and she still believes him. And stay flipping crying, and as I was reading this book, I am like GIRRRRRLLLL if you don’t ask Luke and stop believe his damn brother. I know this a book, but ol’ girl was annoying I swear lol. ‘
And there’s Luke, who always ends up leaving Lexi and not telling her he’s leaving he did it not once, but twice, now I understood the meaning behind why Lexi was upset with him and didn’t want anything to do with him. When he left the second time, I was like “I swear Lucas better not leave and go to freaking Chicago and without telling Alexis that he’s going up there for his best friend who’s in a coma and they will pull the plug soon. He better tells Alexis because if they break up again, I’m going to be really irritated.”
And boy was I irritated smh, but I was glad when she went to Chicago after she talked to both Caroline and Heather and they both told the story of why Cole hates Luke. I thought that it was amazing how the author had Luke, best friend Jose, taken his last breath, once he realizes Lexi was there in the care center with Lucas when he (Jose) took his last breath.
The ending was beautiful he took them to Disney World, not only that he asked her to marry him. Not only that but with the help of his parents, her sister, and her kids who had held the Will You (Paige) and Marry Me (Grace) signs up. With an arrow pointing at Luke in the picture so adorable. Plus, when they had themselves a baby I thought it was so cute. Even the name Harper wasn’t too bad.
I’ve been burned before.
Once by love, twice by fire.
And I don’t know which hurt worse.
For years, I’ve been playing with fire. Both in the sheets and in the streets. But after a life-changing accident, something had to give. Moving from Chicago to New York to live with my estranged brother is less than ideal, but it’s only temporary. To make it through the next year without killing each other, I need to stick to a few simple rules: no dating, no drama, no getting in each other’s business. Easy enough, right?
Then I met her, and the rules went out the window.
Problem is, he met her first.
**TWICE BURNED is the highly anticipated finale to HOT MESS, book one in the Love is Messy Duet**
Omg why am I laughing at this 😂 “the spirit of Michael Jackson”
