Book Review:

More like lessons learn…

*** There’s a couple of spoilers in this review; not that many but a few****

I’m glad I got around to reading this book though it took me a while. This book is pretty different, but it’s interesting to learn that these stories from this series are based on older books. That’s I never really read or want to read.

But I did like the Sonnets… & not only that I was glad that Rex friends Bronx and Reggie finally spoken up to Rex because clearly he was controlling ( more so wanted to control things) and he finally realize when Zara left for a family emergency he was an idiot to jump down her throat and was so worried about that prize that he’s dad never won. & speaking of the dad… I bet he felt some way too because Rex actually won something that he clearly didn’t win. Plus, he was the one to set it up (more so agree) to the group of three for the prize competition. But in the end, he got fool because regardless, Rex won even when he nor Zara was there. I think he would’ve been better off with his mom’s help than his dad. But his right to talk to his dad to get honest answers.

But I was glad in the end that he finally came to his senses and got his girl. & with Zara he parents just wanted her to learn to be on her own without her friends or her family being there. I understand; because it’s like you never want to go someplace or be somewhere alone. & you have actually to learn to do things on your own eventually. I was glad that she was learning too, and she and her friends Rosalie and Maria ended up with Bronx and Reggie.

Book Description:

One semester. No distractions.

Simple, right?

On the verge of winning the biggest literary prize at Shelfbrooke, Rex swears off all girls and parties, and prepares for a distraction-free semester.

It’s the perfect plan.

But when his grades aren’t good enough to participate in the contest, he ends up in tutoring with the new exchange student.

Zara’s been banished to a boring boarding school in America to work on her English.

She’s willing to do whatever it takes to get back to France as soon as possible–even if it means teaming up with the one guy who wants nothing to do with her.

But as the weeks go by and feelings grow, will he realize some things are more important than winning before time runs out?

Love Lessons is a modern retelling of the classic Shakespeare play Love’s Labour’s Lost. It’s a part of the Shelfbrooke Academy series, a collection of retellings that promise to be a lot more fun than the originals!

This book is actually good

Book Review:

***Not so many spoilers but there’s a couple****
This book was really good. For one, I finished this book in two days… I just started on this yesterday… & I’m now finished. I figured that Chris (Christine) was going to choose Dylan over Eddie… like get real who wants to date a guy name, Eddie. Dylan sounds hotter…
But anyway this was a good book. Though cause I liked how the girl was a tomboy and everybody liked her and called her Chris because of her skills on the court and being a tomboy! I don’t think Eddie would’ve done all of the things and know all of the things as Dylan did when it came to Christine. Because all he cared about was wanting to bang her, whereas Dylan didn’t mind kissing Christine but not taking it to far. I was like Eddie better not try raping her. & I was glad he didn’t. & I was also glad when Chris finally realize that she wanted Dylan to cover Eddie. I mean clearly, everybody, including Dylan’s mom, wanted her with Dylan. Not only that, EVERYBODY thought that Chris & Dylan were together even when Eddie was locked away in Juvie…

Basketball was Christine’s ticket from high school to college and her dream of becoming a scientist. The cocky new kid at school was getting in her way, and into her heart.

Dylan knew his snarky new tutor was smart, gorgeous and a great basketball player. He just didn’t realize she had a boyfriend, until after he kissed her.

Now he has a choice, play fair and wait for Eddie to screw up? Or fight to win back Christine’s heart?

The Help (Kings of Linwood Academy #1) by Callie Rose

This book actually good. Plus; she stands up to her bullies. Though I think the guys like her. & this book reminds me of CM Stinch book “The Secret Girl” but it’s also different from it…

Book Review:

Soon good; but the ending

Bruh

This book was really good! Like sheesh!

***There are a few spoilers in this review***

Omg, how good is this book; like these guys were horrible to her, and I am like they have to like her. But also broken her trust in the end. When her mom got the blame for the murder of Iris. I can’t wait to read book two because I want to know what happens next. But I have to read a couple of books first before I get to the next book. Maybe two at least..:

But ugh! It was so wrong for them to get her to trust them and then use her and don’t have her back when it came to her mom getting locked up. I cannot wait until everything comes to light about Iris’s death and among all the lies that town has… Plus, I believe Savannah was spreading a bunch of lies about Harlow. & the police are just a bad as the people. Like sheesh, and what happened on the first day of school was by far the worse, but I was glad that she didn’t back down to her bullies and made them feel weak… but those guys ugh! But enough she ended up having *** with Lincoln more than once. Like she builds that trust, I was glad that she didn’t mention to them that she was a cancer survivor. They probably would’ve used that or mistreated her for having cancer at a young age until she better; was able to live…

I definitely want to smack those guys that crap though for a lot of things like TRUST is something serious, and it’s sucks when it’s actually BROKEN. Because you learn not to trust anyone, especially those who hurt you. & 9/10 in either book two or three those guys going to try to get back in good with her, and I hope she either doesn’t forgive them or take a while to forgive them for what they did. It doesn’t matter if they didn’t want to speak up; that girl’s mother is going to jail for something she didn’t do, and the ONLY person she has is her mother, who got taken away right in front of her…

Who cares if it means working as a live-in housekeeper for a man wealthier than God? The paycheck is good, and it comes with a roof over our heads.

She even manages to get me enrolled in the fancy prep academy his son goes to—the kind that spits out future CEOs and politicians like a vending machine.

But this new town has a few things my old one didn’t…

Like secrets that could get a person killed, and four of the hottest, meanest guys I’ve ever met.

I might live in their world now, but I am not a part of it, and they’ll do whatever it takes to remind me of that.

We go to school together, live together, and share a dangerous secret, but as far as Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase are concerned…

Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

Ryder (Scandal U #1) by R. Linda

Finally started my ARC well yesterday I started. Since I was reading a whole different book. & I can say I am not disappointed and I am curious about Cohen and Jayden who they’ll end up with….. especially Jake and who he’ll date… I’m just loving this book. & still, want to smack fire from Chace… I see… I can’t be too mad at Christina anymore 🤣 but I am still not feeling that Ryder looks like the guy on the phone since the guy looks 40 & Ryder like 18-20ish ….. but anyways #thisbookgoodthough.

Ryder by @rlindaauthor

Book Review:

***Spoilers; not that much but it’s a few***

I got this as an ARC, but at the time, I didn’t start it early before it was released on October 1st… I definitely wasn’t disappointed. That’s for sure. The author did her thing in this book!

In my mind, I think that it’s Cohen that may end up with Jack. Because I don’t see it being Jayden since I already know who Jayden is… I finally figured out where he came from when he mentioned prom & he taken Indie well was going to take her. But Cohen not so much. Since there are two books about both Jayden & Cohen, I am sooo curious as to who it might be, they’ll end up with.. plus I am waiting & waiting for Jack’s story… I got everyone’s story, but his…
Plus I can’t stand Chace omg… like he’s putting Bailey through so much I just want to run him over with a car or put peanut butter in his shoes like that girl did her boyfriend… he even harmed Christina if you think about it especially when you read the book on her… you can’t even hate her in this one because of her story and how she changed which I was glad for. I already can tell who’s going to end up with Jayden 9 out of 10. It’s Lennon because that boyfriend of hers is horrible. Lord knows I cannot stand a woman beater. I can’t wait for Jayden’s book to come. & Lennon end up with a better man! But other than that this book was so good … just like the actual scandalous main series… I am glad that Chace got what he deserved. He is a horrible person and deserved to get beat down; that beating to me wasn’t enough. But clearly, you could tell something was wrong with him. To him, he was acting out; to almost rape, among other things. He seriously was a problem plus it was good that Christina left… clearly, she wasn’t in the right mindset when it came to Chace and even Bailey who she hated for no reason…

Between Christina’s temper tantrums, and Chace’s bad intentions hidden behind fake apologies, Ryder and I try to build a life together. But it’s not easy when past torments follow me wherever I go, slowly turning into a living nightmare.

Even though Ryder saved me once before, it’s different now. This isn’t high school. The stakes are higher than they’ve ever been, and this time I have so much more to lose.

Book Review:

*** There’s a spoiler throughout this book***

I got t. h.i. s book as an ARC I got to READ it before it’s release date…..
.
.

This book was sooo good! I can’t wait until book two with his sister. I knew that he’s sister was going to end up with his sister… but I wonder who the guy is though!

But anyway I glad that Lainey forgave Rook and taken him back even though he lied about his job, which I understood why he lied about it. But I was kind of iffy when he was rude when she was telling him about her have a four-month-old. But also felt bad for him when Lainey didn’t want him to hold Kody… but glad she gave him a chance to hold him and get to know his son and come back into her life.

Also, that guy Walter was a stalker if you looked at because of the way he was acting and knew when Lainey leaves her home and come back. I was like what a creep. & then he tried to come for Rook, but I was glad and happy when they were still together and fool Walter who thought he was going to be there for Lainey when RJ was going on the road… I am kind of excited to learn about the new guys from the Seattle NHL team … since I got to know the guys from the Chicago team. Besides except the one guy “Darren” from Pucked Love. Since I haven’t gotten the chance to read tha… no, I did get a chance but hadn’t finished it. Which I think I’m on chapter one or two. But anyway…

I understood why Lainey’s parents hated RJ but also understood Rook too because it was a reason for his LIE and him not contacting her too. It goes for Lainey too. She also LIED about her not driving; and also keeping her pregnancy to herself. I doubt she would’ve told him; but Eden said it was fate that brought them together (RJ and Rook)…. it was meant for Lainey to move Chicago… I was glad she did because you could tell they cared about each other. I also knew that well was hoping that she would’ve ended up pregnant and she did not only that I want her best friend Eden to move to Seattle and get with one of the guys from the team.

Also, I wasn’t disappointed with this book. It pulled me in from beginning to end. I can’t wait until January of 2020 for the next book to come out!!!!!!!

My current read… I’m over here like trying to beat my reading goal… I’m at 178 out of 200. I’m trying to make it to 200 before the end of the year is over… So far this book is actually good! 📖..

Book Review:

Stand-in to leading lady …

**** I did slap a few spoilers; into this review didn’t know I would…. but I did…. because. I had too…

I liked this book; it was a little different. But also good; I liked the fact that Eli like Chloe over her evil-Ella sister “Ella… because that girl was horrible and her (Chloe) parents were more up Ella behind rather than caring about what Chloe wanted to do and what made her happy. Chloe had her grandma and her aunt and Ella had their parents. Their parents only paid attention to Chloe when she went to the dance with her friends.

Plus; I was glad when Elijah wrote that song and the other song about her… to prove to Ella that he didn’t want her he wanted her younger sister. I felt like Chloe changed Eli for the better. Because he was a man-w****… and that wasn’t good for how old he was especially when you get up in the age… you be played out! But I was waiting on her to finally admit that she wanted to be with Elijah she didn’t really get on my nerves about Eli and her feelings. I just wanted her to stop pretending and stop following and doing everything her sister wanted her to do. I was glad; when she finally became who she wanted and didn’t want to be the shadow of her sister the “stand-in” she finally came out of her shell… and became Chloe Cowan and not Ella Cowan the person who treated her like crap and everyone thought she was from a distance…

I liked how everyone half of the people anyways figures out that Chloe was the nicer sister, and Ella was the evil sister. I had to laugh at the end when Eli sang that song for Chloe in front of everyone including her sister and then in the auditorium when Ella told her not to kiss Eli, and she (Chloe) did… I was like about time girl you don’t care about what your sister thinks, and she kissed him too…. & finally got the guy & wasn’t a stand-in you look at it Chloe was actually the leading lady, she just didn’t see it for herself and didn’t see she was beautiful and guys and others liked her whereas her sister was just a horrible person. That half of year twelve which I believe in American is twelfth grade knew Ella was evil…

Forever Yours (Ridgewater High #6) by Judy Corry

Current read 📖…..

Book Review:

Pretty good read…

*** There are spoilers here and there****

I had to go down memory land to figure out where Jace and Logan came from I don’t know why I thought they were from a Christmas book. But I did realize that Logan was from the book with Raven… because they did that Christmas event together and she didn’t like him like that she was more into Jace rather than Logan…. when it came to Olivia I’m like ahhh more details into what happened with Jace point of view. Rather than Raven and Logan point of view because Raven did thought it was Logan for a chance. But finding out that Jace had lipstick on his lips when he went to talk to Alyssa was crazy…

I mean, I wanted her to forgive him because he did like her, but how could he think that she would’ve forgiven him when he had Olivia lipstick on his lips. But it’s a good thing that her best friend Raven help Jace get Alyssa back with also the help of his twin brother and they doing the switch-a-roo thing again. But they did have her for a minute or two because she clearly thought she was talking and dancing with Logan until she figured out that it was Jace.

Not only that it’s a good thing that she forgave Jace because he clearly wasn’t like Trey who cheated on Alyssa and didn’t even care about her feelings only cared about winning a bet.. plus I knew he probably remembered a lot of things especially when he was talking to Alyssa than Jace… I’m like hmm this boy more likely remembered everything that happened. Plus I thought it was karma that goes him, but clearly, he didn’t learn anything after the accident because he was clearly the same person he always been especially when he had all those ex-girlfriends after Kaela…

Btw: I want a story with their friend Rachel and maybe the guy Ky Miller because that’ll be an interesting story because she clearly hates the guy…

Handle With Care (Shacking Up #5) by Helena Hunting

So glad I get a can’t to read “handle with care” 🙌🏽 @helenahunting

Book Review:

*I pop through with a lot of spoilers throughout my review****•

Ohh I am so happy that I got to read this book. Because I was counting the days until it’s released date. & I can say I wasn’t disappointed at all. But learning that Lincoln and Armstrong had a half-sister was a surprise. But I also figure something was up with their mom and it wasn’t really their father who was the bad parent. Their mother is clearly a horrible woman and took Lincoln to get rid of her. & Armstrong gets his ways from his mom, especially when she let him get by with things no matter what he did. I believe his mom also made their dad swipe Armstrong behavior under the rug. Because she did it when it came to his ex-fiancée who he cheated on at their wedding, I was glad she left him for his cousin who was a better man than him.
Though; having their sister Hope there to tame Armstrong is a blessing. I am hoping the author end up writing a book about Armstrong even though he has a pencil-di** as well as Hope because I want to see if he’ll actually change and become a better person because he doesn’t have any custody of the baby he had with Imgeon or whatever how you spell her name. I just want to see if he’ll change his creepy ways and how he speak to women he needs a woman like Wren because I felt like a woman who can smack Armstrong down a couple of notches would be good for him. Especially if their mom isn’t around anymore with her hungry money ***.
But in my mind, I think their dad probably died from having sex with Hope mom, that’s how he ended up with that heartache that led to him dying on the way to the hospital. Not only that their mom Gwendolyn clearly didn’t care about what Lincoln did when he was out there helping build things and helping other countries. He did more labor and hard work to help people more than she (Gwen) did including Armstrong who was too uptight to ride the subway 🚇…. unlike Lincoln who wanted too.

Lincoln is a way better person than Armstrong though. Especially when it comes to his personality among other things like what he wears and what the public thinks. Armstrong needs a lot of help, and I do wonder if he’ll ever get it because I believe he has a mental health issue…..

But like I said I am hoping that Armstrong (needle di**) end up with a book, along with their sister Hope and even Dani (Wren best friend) who knows Dani may can tame Armstrong, but I don’t think she’s the right person for him. But I do wonder if it’ll be the sixth book to this series.
