Magnolia Lake by Emily Paige Skeen

I’m actually reading two books. This is the second book I started on. I’m almost finish it. I’ll go back to the first book I was reading after I’m done with this one. It’s been a pretty good book, even though I think this girl Cora is stupid when it comes to her best friend Landon.

Book Review:

Spoilers? There’s a possibility it’ll be a bunch splash here and there if not it’ll be less.

This book was even though I thought Cora was very stubborn and didn’t see the way Landon felt about her. When her family and friends knew how he felt. Even Rex knew that she had a thing for Landon, she didn’t figure it out until Prom night. Which I thought was a good thing, because I was like finally.

They got together after everything Landon proved and showed her how he felt. Not only that, what I came to realize before the tragedy happened to Cora when she got kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Jeff was she was very oblivious to a lot of things, but she also was very gullible. She didn’t see or believe in a lot of things that others saw. I mean very naïve too. Just like when Landon told her she needed to go to the cops when he found out about the bruise on her own, Jeff left after he grabbed her without her permission.

She assumes that Jeff wasn’t going to do anything. Until he did. Which lead to her getting kidnapped at the mall. Was in Jeff’s family barn for ten days. I felt so bad for her because he had an obsession with that girl. I was like he needs to realize that when someone doesn’t love you, “let it go.”

Like he cheated on her with her best friend Lacey and then tried getting her back. On to apologizing, then since that didn’t work for him, he started to stalk her every move, which was by far scary as heck like jheeze Louise. I was glad when Landon came to her rescue (as always) since he cared for and loved her. But I became really sad when I learned he was paralyzed from the waist down. I was like nooooooo, not Landon crying 😢… I was rooting for them (he and Cora) and wanted him to play baseball.

But learning that they locked up Jeff and threw away the key made my dad. But what made my day was Landon being 20% able to walk again. With a lot of therapy. He even stood up during Cora’s birthday party at the end.

Even if he was fully paralyzed (though he wasn’t), I thought. Even though he would’ve been, it’s a lot he could do even if he were paralyzed from the waist down. I was like he could coach baseball, among other things.

But in the end, everything turns out good for both he and Cora. Even though they been through the worse but they came out of it, especially Cora.

Don’t Kiss the Heartbreaker (Billionaire Academy YA Romance Book 3) by Holly Stevenson

My current read. I’m 72 out of 100 on my reading challenge.

Book Review:

Hmm 🤔? Will there be a lot of spoilers, maybe!

Soo. I liked that this one was just as good as the second book. I like a book that can keep my interest and have me curious as to what will happen next.

I could tell that Cade liked Tia, which she didn’t understand why would he pick her out of all the other girls and randomly single her out, which he explained to her his reason.

I understand her doubts about not giving in to him when he asks her to be his girlfriend. But I thought she was a fool to believe Chloe had to say to her about “why Cade asks her out,” smh! 🤦🏽‍♀️ She was just stupid to assume and believe what that horrible girl has to say. Because Chloe been a problem since book one. I mean Gah, she wants every guy that’s new or popular. They who don’t even want her. They go for girls who are the polar opposite of her and who’s way better.

Hence, Cade, he didn’t want to be alone with Chloe though I always thought he could’ve ignored her and told her no I am doing this with Tia ONLY! But I was glad that her best friend Lacey had her back through everything.

Not only that, she told her parents how she felt about the pageant and taking over her father’s technology business when all she wanted to be a career in art.

I’m glad Tia worked things out with Cade because she almost let Chloe out of everybody ruin her relationship.

Book Description:

Cade Carlisle is the hottest guy in school—and he’s also the biggest heartbreaker.

Everybody knows that.

So why did I just agree to go out with him?

Am I dreaming … or did the student body president and hottest guy in school just ask me out?

I’m seventy-five percent sure I’m dreaming. I mean … it had to be a dream, right? Cade Carlisle doesn’t just walk up to a nobody (aka, me) and ask them point blank if they want to go on a date.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’m a leper. When Mom’s got me all dolled up with my hair and face done to beauty pageant perfection—I’m more than halfway decent. Some might even say pretty—but thus far, I haven’t bothered with any of that at Mr. Rainier Academy.

I’m just plain old Tia Radcliffe.

But I have a feeling that this date with Cade is about to change everything …

Don’t Kiss in Detention (Billionaire Academy YA Romance #2) by Erica Penrod

I think this one is better than the first book in this series. But still don’t understand the title for this book 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Book Review:

Spoilers here and there.
Before I even get started on this review for this book. All I want to say I need a book with Crue and Emery because I want to know if he’s going to go for what he wants because he likes Emery, but he’s not pushing himself to get the girl. Hopefully, book four will be about them or something.

So with that being said… I liked this book more than I liked book one. Book one was okay. I also caught something in this book where they were in the ride with Adelle, and they spoke to each other. But in the book with Adelle, it wasn’t John she was on the date with it was Kevin… Adelle ended up with John at the dance after what happened between Kevin’s ex and the guy Terrance.

Also, I liked the fact that the Nile finally realize he had feelings for Jovi. Because he was mean to her when they first met, I mean everybody seems to be. I think due to her ways on the show. Because you’ll think that person is this certain way when you are watching them on reality tv every week.

I like that she showed Nile that wasn’t who she truly was on the show. She showed him the real her. & he also shows her that he did want to be with her, and he had the same feelings that she had for him.

He saw the real her when he saw how her parents acted towards her, especially her father because his dad was horrible. Since his father acted like his son was going to ruin his image due to the election. Smh 🤦🏽‍♀️… it’s crazy how you have to act a certain way due to the job that your parents or parent have. But after the election, his dad finally came around. Which I think is a good thing kind of. Because I think his (Nile) father didn’t need to treat Nile the way he did.

Especially when it came to Jovi.

Don’t Kiss Your Lab Partner (Billionaire Academy YA Romance #1) by Lucy McConnell

This book is okay! I want to read something else, but I want to finish this book first!

Book Review:

Spoilers… splash here and there••

Okay, so when I first started this book, I was like, hmm, 🤔 do I want to finish this book? Or not! I was tempted to start another book and come back to this one later, but I didn’t. I continue to read this one, and I glad I did.

I can’t say that this book is the best one yet that Lucy McConnell has written. I’ve read others by her. But I can say it was good and pretty interesting. It did keep my attention a little. Because I wanted to know what will happen between John and Adelle and what was Nicole was planning to do. Her attempt to ruin their app was stupid over a guy who didn’t even want Jeanie like ugh glad that Kevin went after her and hopefully got his girl back because Terrance didn’t deserve her.

I also understood what John did for Adelle so that she could win the TACS award. Not only that, in the end, but they also got to be together. Because Nicole finally got removed from John’s arms. She was acting like a Leach, but in reality, she wanted Terrance and only wanted to hurt Adelle. But truthfully, she didn’t hurt Adelle because John wanted her and only her (Adelle)…

Book Description:

I was ready to rock Sophomore year…

Until I got the party kid as a lab partner…

I’ve dreamed of winning the TACS Award since I could type. But, the school board decided we needed to learn to work well with others and gave us partners for the computer programming project. Lucky me, I assigned with John Herrington III, whose big idea is a dating app for teens.

I’m so flunking.

I’m also crushing on him–hard.

Jumping into the social lives of our fellow students backfires when the mean girl gets dumped because of our app. She sets out to sabotage our project and ruin the Homecoming Dance for anyone we matched.

There’s only one way to salvage the project–but it will mean my first broken heart because I’ll lose either the guy I love or my life-long dream.

Dating: For the Assist: A Sweet YA Best Friend’s Brother Romance, Eastridge Heights Basketball Players, (Book 4) by Stephanie Street

Currently reading 📖…. “Dating to assist”. This was the main one I wanted to read since I was curious about Dannika feelings for her best friend twin brother…

Book Review:

Spoilers…just a few****••…

I wasn’t expecting this book to go into five years later. It was very interesting to read. Learning every one of the guys and the girls grown up to become an adult. To Luke and his twin, Piper was learning about who their birth father is. I don’t know why I think it was KARMA. It would be me of me to say that about their dad (Michael) who went into the army. But he did fool around with Bella, aka Lily behind his twin brother (Robert) back. 🤷🏽‍♀️… but at least, in the end, Lily got her happy ending with her true love Robert.

But anyway, I liked this book. I was glad it didn’t take Luke a long time to figure out his feelings for Dannika. As he said, he may have been in denial about how he truly felt about her. Glad it took a kissing game for them to become closer and want to be more than friends. That was a good thing! But did suck when Piper broke up with Drew that was cute together, but at least they figure things out in the end.

I don’t have much to say about this book, tbh since after they all graduated, it went into Mia/Grayson, Luke/Dannika, Noah/Tierney, and Drew/Piper. It was all their story leading into Luke and Dannika’s wedding.

What I realize is out of all the guys, Drew was the only guy from the basketball (from the close friends) that went into professional basketball, whereas Will, Noah, Luke, Grayson, Mateo, Zeke, and AJ went a different route. Very interesting to see. But at least they all stay close even with busy schedules and marriages/careers and children/to-be…

A Secret for a Secret (All In #3) by Helena Hunting

Currently reading 📖A Secret for a SecretARC by @helenahunting >>> coming *• May 12th•* <<< I’m excited to get to read this book. 🤪

Book Review:

***Spoilers…. splash throughout**
I was giving this book as an ARC for an honest review. “A Secret for a Secret” comes out on May 15th.

I am going to state this I was VERY excited actually to get the chance to read this book earlier. I wasn’t disappointed at all, either. This book held my attention from beginning to end. I felt like Queenie was good for King. Because Jessica was not it for him at all. When he was mentioned a few times in Stevie and Bishop’s book, I kept thinking that maybe Jessica cheated or had a baby or family or something.

But comes to find out King’s sister Hanna was his mother. & his mother was his grandmother. I didn’t think that whatever Queenie went through wasn’t as bad as what he went through.

The only thing was bad was learning she married that sorry a-turd Corey at eighteen. & learning that Corey dumb self didn’t pay that fine for their divorce to be finalized. What a waste that was, especially when he kept putting her down, I see why she kept running away from her problems. But what I was about was the fact that she didn’t run away from her problems when it came to King. At least she tried to fix whatever needed to be fixed. But she kept a lot of secrets from King and other people. It was interesting that King trusted her. But I was glad that they didn’t let anyone or anything mess up their relationship because they had a lot of drama in their relationship, especially Queenie.
P.S. I don’t know, but I feel like there should be or going to be a book about Corey Slater, Queenie ex-douche bag husband. & some girl, the girl I am thinking is King ex Jessica🤣 that’s what I keep thinking. I felt like Sissy was full of it too when it came to Corey, I hope he listened to Queenie when she told him he better get a prenup when he was busy talking smack to her, when he should’ve been worried about his woman Sissy who was a thot bot which, was a Flossie and the baby turned out NOT to be his. What a waste somebody well no people no those hockey players need to learn how to stop getting involved with that chick she is no good. & only trying to get a come up from whatever hockey player she can get her hands on. First, it was Rook; then it was Corey, I wonder who else she’s going to get her claws on!!!!

P.S. another thing that caught my attention was the fact that I think Hanna (King, Momster) end-up dating Queenie (Dad, Jake), who is also King general manager beside Alex.

Btw: I wonder who the book is going to be about. Let’s hope it’s Corey that dude got a lot with him. If not, I do wonder who it’ll be and what name (title) it’s going to be.

But then, as I’m writing this review. I am like wait the next book can’t be about Corey, because he has a pencil ding-a-ling… whereas the guys in this series are working with something. 🤣

Book Description:

From New York Times, bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps.

My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.

Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.

I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.

Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.

She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.

Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.

And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.

The Wrong Costar (The Wrong Match #2) by Alexandra Moody

Currently reading… “The Wrong Co-Star” ….. I’m at 48/100 in my reading challenge. Though it’s a lot of books I want to read that I am trying to get around to reading. This is one of them.

Book Review:

Spoilers? The possibility there’s spoilers listed!!
So okay! This book was as good as the first book. I wasn’t disappointed at all. I knew that both Teagan and Liam were going to end up falling for one another.

Not only that, I felt that Teagan was mean to Liam and didn’t give him the chance to show her who he was. She judged him based on what she saw on the blogs, news, magazines, etc. She learns he was a nice person when he saved her from those guys who were fighting in front of her.

I was glad she stopped being mean to him. Because he wasn’t mean to her, I think he was doing things to get attention from her. Plus, she had a stick up her behind because of what was going on with her mom.

When it comes to her mom, I was glad that she talked some sense into her mother. & her mother finally figured out that she needed help. Not only her mother, Liam finally sticking it to his mother. What I realize a lot of times teenagers and children who are thirteen and younger parents control their lives and also become money hungry when their child becomes a star (actress). I don’t even understand half the time why children or even teens look for their parents to become their managers. Half the time, the parents can be evil and controlling. I was glad that it took what that director Jake? 😢 I think that was his name 😩🤣 I don’t know how I forgot. But it took for that guy to talk some sense into Liam for him to stick it to his mother. & I was glad.

Because Liam went ahead and did the play and didn’t ruin it for Teagan and the other castmates she in drama class with, at least he (Liam) was committed, and Jake (the director) understood and didn’t fired Liam from the movie. He gave Teagan a position in the film, which was GREAT!

I can’t wait to read the story with her best friend, Hayley.

Book Description:

When Teagan lands the lead in her school play, the last thing she expected was for Hollywood heartthrob and notorious bad-boy Liam Black to be cast as her costar. The whole school is buzzing with his arrival, but she couldn’t be more annoyed. How can she possibly shine on stage when the limelight is focused entirely on him?

Liam might be at Lincoln High to prepare for his next movie role, but just because he can act doesn’t mean he’s the perfect guy for the part. He’s got a bad reputation. He doesn’t take their play seriously. And, worst of all, he and Teagan can’t stand each other.

They’ll have to learn to work together if they want the play to be a success, but the more time they spend together the harder it is to ignore the sparks flying between them on stage.

Good chemistry is just a part of acting though. Teagan and Liam are only pretending. Right?

This book is a full length, standalone romance.

Misadventures in the Cage (Misadventures) by Sarah Robinson

So far it’s actually good…

Book Review:

**Spoilers? There’s a possibility that it will be a lot!!!

I can say I liked this one way better than the Firefighter one. I finish this one fast. I can say like one-two days.

With that being said, I would like to point out that I understood both Callan and Josie’s parts on the breakup. But I was not too fond of the fact that Josie thought it was okay for her to up and leave Callan on the day of the fight between her brother (Xavier) and Callan. But when he does it (well technically; he didn’t want to break up only wanted to do long distance even though he didn’t want to). It was her pushing him (Callan) away again. Like this was so typical for her when it came to him. She blamed him the second time around, forgetting Michelle pregnant. Like it was ridiculous because, for one, she left him when he didn’t want her too. & plus Josie knew that Michelle and Callan weren’t in a serious relationship. It was only, but there careers.

Plus, you could tell Callan didn’t want no Michelle. She wasn’t right for him. Especially how she reacted to certain things. Though she wanted something more with him. I was glad when Josie came to her senses and realized when she got that offer for a television show in California that she made mistakes. With running away from her feelings and not telling Callan how she felt about him. When the whole time, he proves to her how he felt about her. Even when he had to stay in California when he learned about Michelle being pregnant by him, you could tell that he got her pregnant during the time both he and Michelle was drunk. A lot of times, that happens to people (in real life I know to people in my family that happened to 🤣).

But like I was saying, I was glad she came to her senses and went to work things out with Callan when she moved to California. Because she knew she still had a feeling for him and vise versa. Plus, it was good that she accepted his daughter Alice by the model Michele. Not only that, she (Josie) ended up pregnant in the end with Callan, son. That was also good for them both, plus getting married. Though she asked him; not only that her (Josie) and Michelle worked things out with each other for the sake of Alice…

Btw: But I still can’t get over the fact that they bonded over burying a sex doll in the desert.🤣

P.S. Though, I was wondering what her race was being the author was saying something down the line like “creamy brown skin”, “dark brown skin.” I’m like he’s (Callan) is Irish, what in the world is Josie?… I was okay. She not black, but maybe she’s a Kim Kardarisan skin color, I reckon, I mean someone who’s not white are those who have brown or dark skin.. unless you, get yourself a tan...

Misadventures with a Firefighter (Misadventures) by Julie Morgan

Finally got around to reading this book. The being was kind of dual. But afterward, it turns out pretty good!!! I still plan to get the actual paperback book!!!

Book Review:

***Spoilers…Not that many but a few***

Okay. At the beginning of this book, it was ehhhh — kind of dry. After I kept reading, I wanted to know what else happens. Still, I was stuck in between what I felt for this book. This is why I gave it a four-star instead of a five like I do, mostly my books. With that being said…
I already knew that Erin was going to snitch when Noah kept coming to the school even when he volunteered in the class with Cara and his son… I mean, you look at it. They gave themselves away with how they were touching and making side-eyes. But they never touch when the kids were around… as Erin made it seem. But in the end; she was just jealous of Cara and what she had… her true colors came about when Cara started dating one of her students (Marshall) dad (Noah)… she wanted Cara position, but she didn’t even get it…. she did what she thought Cara did to get the job that she had (**cough*** come on the principal)… what she (Erin) got was a kick out the door for doing what she thought Cara did. Karma got her good because she knew she was wrong for spreading lies…

I also thought it was crazy to have those rules of a teacher can’t date students’ parents. When in reality, Cara and Noah were talking way before he/she found out that she (Cara) was his (Marshall) teacher, and he was his father (Noah). In the end, I was glad that Cara got her job back, and she came to her senses about how she wanted to be with Noah regardless of what happened with her job!!!!!

The Accidental Girlfriend by Emma Hart

I like when I can find a good book to read📖🤓 ……

Book Review:

*•Spoilers.. splash 💦 here and there*•
Half the time, I don’t realize I am reading Emma Hart’s books. Lol! I pick a book I’m interested in. & so far, when I do read her books, I am never disappointed, and I am waiting on her next book to come out.

But before I start on this review. I want a book with Mason’s sister Kristy and his best friend, Trevor. I think they got a thing for each other on the DL. I’m just saying!

Plus, I think what his (Mason) sister Kristy did was wrong but was a smart move. Because it did show his ex-girlfriend that he moved on even if their (Mason + Lauren) relationship started FAKE. They didn’t admit their feelings for each other until after the fact (when Claudia; told his mom about what happen) well more they did tell their best friends their feelings about one another.

But what made me laugh was Claudia thought for sure she was going to get Mason back but got fool because she didn’t do anything to affect Lauren and Mason’s relationship. She wanted something that wasn’t hers anymore. She threw him away for someone who had more than him. What she didn’t realize was that the grass wasn’t greener on the other side. But she also didn’t want Mason happy with anyone else; since like he (Mason) stared if she can’t have him anybody can’t) but ended up looking like a fool because Lauren still ended up with him and they both made each other happy. Plus, she got along with his family. When your family like a person you know you found somebody good! Not only that, his family and even his annoying neighbor hated Claudia 🤣….. I’m just glad that they finally got into a REAL relationship after Mason admitted his feelings for Lauren. & Lauren was finally admitting to him after he told her she does feel the same as he does…
