Book Review:

JUST A FEW SPOILERS HERE AND THERE!!

I had no doubts about this book I knew it was going to be good, once I started reading, and I had high hopes for Swan, Shai, and Gater, and bruh I thought Gater got killed like tf. Dude, I’m like all three of them, would’ve been some beast in the streets. But then I’m like, the kid sound familiar thou from the other books I have read with the Clark’s in them. But that part is so familiar to me like I read it somewhere with him and that scene! He had to survived that shoot out, but how is the question, so I go back to the Animal (Book1), and like Gator did die. Blah.

Also, I finally got to read how Shai dad died, and what happened with his brother Tommy, who I thought was a straight idiot, he definitely messed up his father business and got half of everybody killed including his father. And man when I read that part that was some sad **** I got a little teary eyed reading it especially when Tommy saw his father laid out in the streets, and when Shai pulled up and seen his dad, like dang.

Also, I know people are going to be like REALLY and some other stuff, but listen lol, NO lie to you, I swear I thought Shai and his family was Italian from reading the other books that they are in lmao. SMH! Just because of the “spaghetti eating comments.

Lastly, I don’t hate Shai as much as I did at first since I read his story. Also, I felt like if nothing happened to his father or Tommy. I think he wouldn’t have gotten into the drug business, it’s funny how no one looks at Shai and being the one to watch. Like um, I knew he was going to lethal, a problem, dude, is actually street smart, and book smart, he think things through before acting unlike his brother.

About to start reading this…. I know I probably start liking Shai …. after I start this lol 😂😒😒

Description:

He set out to be the good son, but the streets had a different plan.

Born to one of the city’s most notorious crime families, Shai Clark has always managed to be a good kid. A college hoops star, Shai shunned the world that his father had created and focused on his dreams of going pro. Tommy, Shai’s trigger-happy older brother, is next in line for the throne and rules under his father through brute force. But Poppa has bigger plans for Shai.
The situation soon turns ugly when Poppa is murdered and Tommy is removed from the equation. Suddenly Shai finds himself at the head of his father’s empire and the streets are thrown into chaos. It is then that he must decide whether to pursue his own dreams or put his father’s affairs in order. Unable to sit idly by while the Clarks’ underworld empire is pillaged, Shai takes up his father’s mantle and brings his game to the streets. He quickly learns that there are two sides to every coin, and the streets hold no mercy for the weak.
Hoodlum chronicles three generations of Trinidadian immigrants and their rise to power in the New York City heroin trade.
A K’wan classic.

After waging a war on the streets of New York that lasts nearly three years, it seems like peace is finally being restored to the land and Shai can get back to focusing on continuing his father’s mission to legitimize the Clark family— but little does he know it was only the calm before the storm. Not everyone respects his claim to the Clark empire, and when new and old enemies start to come out of the woodwork, Shai will find that inheriting the throne was one thing, but holding onto it will prove to be a far more difficult task.

Book Review:

Few Spoilers..

This book, is actually good. Man Simone had me feeling all types of emotions lol she makes me not want to finish the other books in the series.I already know, I’m a want to continue the rest of the series to. I just knew Omari woman was going to get killed while pregnant. The killer is either Simone, Ebony, or Ching friends.I’m so irritated I hate reading books that has babies, children and teens killed. I’m also like what happen to the baby over and over.Plus, I also felt bad for Tammi, I knew she was going to die anyway so or later.I hope Omari don’t end up with that psycho.Capone, and Omari actually going to end up in that drug game hard watch especially after his woman died. I was happy to here his daughter lived I’m like thank God.While, I’m over here listening to this book like um hello did she live? Glad she did. I’m just rolling my eyes and shaking my head like this ninja here.Smh… Ending had me like  see I just knew.  Why? Because I figured Simone had something to do with Ayesha murder and not only Ayesha, Tammi murder too. I hope they mop the floor with that weave of her psychopath self lol. I know I don’t like snitches, Chance need to snitch on that hoe thot lol. Cause whoosh I never lol.

Book Description:

He’s beautiful, with gray eyes, tall, chocolate…and he’s worth fighting for.

Meet Omari, a gorgeous, hardworking 28-year-old man from the South Side of Chicago. No matter how hard he works at his job at UPS, it is never enough to take care of himself and his long-term girlfriend. After continuous pressure from his older cousin, Ching, Omari finally trades in busting his ass for working under Ching, hustling three major blocks on the West Side.

All is good as Omari juggles work and the drug game – until Ching involves him in the murder of someone who ends up being the governor’s nephew. As he dodges homicide detectives, Omari is also trying to dodge getting caught between two loves. He’s been committed to Aeysha for seven years but is falling more each day for Simone, an older, more established woman who is at his beck and call.

After years of playing the side chick, Simone finally finds love that she thinks is all her own. Just as she settles in to loving Omari, she finds out about Aeysha, and her desperate mind begins to plot how to finally win her man. Simone’s best friend, Tammy, thinks Simone is crazy, and she herself is running from an obsessed ex-boyfriend who is persistent in trying to kill her. Tammy lives in hiding for months as she asks herself this burning question: How can a man love a woman with the same hands that he is willing to kill her with?

As the murder investigation leads to arrests, the walls come down on these lovers. Murder, sex, and indictments lead to unforeseen tragedy and unexpected love.
